This week I worked on some of those microsope slide pendant necklaces - I hope to finish them and get them in French Twist and my web site this week (Pictures to come) . I also started working on a lot of table runners. And I've spent the last three days working at my friend Rae Ann's shop Caviano, while she did the World Wide Antique show. At the risk of sounding like a commercial, It always fun working there as she as the most amazing collections of vintage european antiques. Lucious velvets, belgian lace, silver, fantastic carved furniture, vintage jewelry, and much more, many items from France and Italy. Rae Ann has been collecting all her life and makes frequent buying trips to Europe. Rae Ann's regular empoyee, Christopher, trained in design in Paris, does most of the displays, and they are amazing. It's fun to watch people come in for the first time, look around and say - "I've got to come back when I have more time!". This time I helped out a little unpacking and setting out the Christmas things - what fun! During this slow time for my business, it's nice to be able to make a little money, and get to work with such beautiful things. If you are interested in European antiques (as opposed to my plain old American Junk!), check out Caviano.com.
