Colorado got socked by a huge snowstorm - we here in Castle Rock got about 18", there was much drifting of blowing snow - somewhat unusual this early in the season. Chip got 2 snow days from work and was happy about that.
I had been planning to make some table runners, for my web site and to sell at French Twist. I've been stockpiling fabric and trim so it was the perfect time to sew, sew, sew. I got many done and some are already posted on my website, wildrosecottage.com. Runners are great to add some drama, color and softness to your tables during the holiday season. For this batch I did a lot of red, green, gold, brown and blue for a rich look with plenty of trims and tassels.
This week, I have been trying to practice the virtue of patience. I am, by nature, an impatient person. I always thing things should be going faster than they are. I don'k know why I am that way, but it has caused problems for me when I do things too fast. So for this week, I tried to go slow, and really focus on the details. In sewing, as in many other things in life, you can't rush and expect to have a nice thing in the end. So, I practiced being patient and letting things take the time they needed. I'm pretty happy with the results, and I did enjoy the process more. Hmmmm...., maybe you can teach on old dog new tricks.
