I haven't posted much as I was up in Washington State visiting my son, daughter-in-law and my 1 year old grandaughter, Lain. It was a nice get-a-way, I spent a lot of face time with Lain and got to see more of Pt. Townsend, my son's new home town. It is a beautiful town, on the Olympic Pennisula, surrounded by the waters of puget sound. There are a lot of beautiful old buildings and homes, you can see both the water and mountains in the distance. And of course being Washington state, lots of lovely trees. Although very pretty and green, it doesn't rain as much as the rest of the state as they are in the "rainshadow" of Mt. Olympia (the mountain squeezes most of the moisture out before it gets to them). And the best thing about the town is there is no Wal-Mart or Target. Not that I have anything against those companies per se, but it's refreshing to see a town that is committed to support local businesses and not letting large corporations take over and run small businesses out. There are wonderful small shops in the downtown that are thriving due to this.
Before I left, I had completed a bunch of table runners. Some I put with Amy in French Twist, and 2 of them at Caviano. I'm glad to say I sold two from Amy's shop and on
e at Caviano while I was gone. I even got a fan e-mail from the customer at Caviano! I am busing buying more fabric and planning more runners. They are very unique and fun to do, with lots of applique work and fancy trim. I have some on my website as well, so hopefully people who buy them will then order more from the website. We have another snow storm on the way this weekend, so I will be busy sewing while the snow flies.
