Baby it's cold outside

And pretty cold inside too! This is the coldest fall I've experienced since moving to Colorado 10 years ago. Being a California native, I've gotten used to, but never really grown to like the cold. I know, I know, if you are from Minnesotta, or some place like that, Colorado weather is great. But, trust me, if you are from California, not so much. And to top it off, our heater went out last night. Aparently I'm not the only one around this has happened to, as the first heater repair place I called was booked up for a week. At least they returned my call, most did not. I finally got someone who would come this morning - Yeah! At least this didn't happen 3 days ago, when it was -3. An overnight low of 13 is warm, in comparison. So I've thermeled up, got the gas fireplace going and it's a bearable 61 degrees in the house.

Business wise - I'm still waiting to hear if I will get a space at The Barn. If it does happen, it won't be until February, which is fine, it gives me more time to prepare. I did a swing though the Aurora thrift stores on Monday. I did very will at Unique, found some nice things, that will fit in with my look. My best find was a vintage florist basket in tones of white and taupe, still with the original zinc liner. And the price was right $1.61 (less the 25% Monday discount). Cant beat that. Florists baskets aren't exactly a hot commodity, but I love them and it will look great in my space, so still a nice find.

I had a few things in with Rae Ann at the Paris Christmas market las weekend. I did pretty well considering the few things I had. I really appreciate that Rae Ann let me do that, and I was glad to help her with set up and help out with customers. It was packed both days and I had a lot of fun doing it. Next year, I hope to have a space of my own. I also did well last week at French Twist. So between that and working 1 day a week for Rae Ann at Caviano, I have enough to do a little Christmas shopping and put some away for next year for my business, and I am happy about that. It does seem that everything is working out for me to have my own space again. It seems that from the moment I decided and told people I was ready, that things began to fall into place. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.
