I am happy to say I have finished my Christmas shopping. What a nice feeling, I can relax and enjoy the rest of the season. In my life, I've run the gamut of not doing Christmas at all (long story) and going all out crazy baking, decorating buying gifts, etc. This year it's a balance. Since my kids live out of state most gifts were purchased on the internet and what a great time saver that is. I do like buying some gifts and sending them, so I sent each family a small box. Thank goodness you can do your shipping via the internet - no standing in line at the post office.
My stepson Arik will be coming home, which I am looking forward to. Saturday, Chip and I host our annual cul-de-sac Xmas Party, with Chip doing Santa duty. I used to make all the food and buy all the gifts for the kids, but that was just too much. The last few years, it's strickly bring a dish and a wrapped gift your kids. No one minds and it's a lot easier on me. This will be our last Christmas in Castle Rock, so it's something I will miss.
Meanwhile, on the business front - I am going back to The Barn January 1st! Sinch I hadn't heard from the manager about a specific space, I assumed it wouldn't be until February. So I was surprised to find out it was still a go. But, I am exicited about being back and working on things for my "new look". Today I made a potting bench out of some things I had hanging around the basesment. Turned out pretty well, I think.
I also made a few journals. I saw an ad in a magazine with something similar, and couldn't wait to do my own version. I used the vintage velvet from Caviano to make roses and added some vintage trims.
