Hello from California

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while - sales at my Barn shop have been better than I expected (which is a good thing), but I've been scrambling to keep things moving there. I on a little R&R trip to Sacramento to see my daughter for a few days and then house/kitty/grandson sit while she and her hubbie go to Trinidad. My grandson Ian and I have been hanging out and catching up. He is 15 this month, and about 6 feet tall. Wow, how did that happen so fast? He's a great kid and it's wonderful spending some time.

I've mostly been loafing, watching TV and petting the cats, but I've made a few expeditions. Today I went to historic Folsom. I used to live in nearby El Dorado Hills so this is old home week for me. There are several really great shops there. My favorite is Katrina's . It's a great shop filled with vintage european ribbons, trims and fabric. And the owner, Katrina is really nice. We had a great time talking about our businesses and I got some great french seam binding, some velvet flowers and vintage grograin ribbon. I've been sewing up some little ribbon roses and thinking about what I will do with them when I get back. She is at 701 Sutter St. in Folsom if you are ever in the area.

Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera (doh!), so, no pictures.
