Sweet Easter Project

Well I've been working hard since I got back from California. I worked several days at The Barn, and I've also been working on my basement, cleaning and organizing to get ready to sell our house. This was a major job and it feel good to see the light at the end of the tunnel there. I've gotten rid of a lot of junk, moved my work space and started painting the unfinished floor. I've been working so hard I decided I deserved a little play time, so I made these Easter Cones.

In cleaning out my basement I found this pretty pink and white crepe paper streamer which gave me the idea for the project. I cut some pretty scrapbooking paper (KC and Company) in a 1/4 arc, then shaped it into a cone and hot glued it Then I put the crepe paper all around the top edge and a little spot of it on the bottom. I cut a small hole on both sides and tied on some wired ribbon for a handle. I got the images from The Graphics Fairy (link on my blog). I sized them down to about 2" X 3" and printed out. I cut more scapbook paper into a rectangle about 1/4 inch larger than the images. I used a scallop edge cutter on my paper cutter, but you could just cut them straight. I then sprayed the front side of the scrapbook rectangle with spray adhesive (I used Super 7777). I placed the image on top of the scrapbook rectangle centering it and pressing to adhere. Then I sprinkled Glass glitter on top. The glitter will adhere to the edge of the scrapbook paper which has glue, but not to the image. Dust off any extra glitter and hot glue to the front of the cone.
