I was surprised - and pleased - to see that The Graphics Fairy featured my Easter Cones on Brag Monday today. Quite a few of you have visited my blog and commented, so thank you, thank you thank you.
So I decided to do another project today, just so there would be more to see for you all. I occasionaly find vintage train cases as Estate or Garage sales. Once, I found one sitting at the curb with the trash, and I snatched it up! They are fun to decorate up. This one I decided to do a music/french theme. I first sprayed the outside of the case with primer and then off white spray paint. Then I cut old music sheets in various sized of rectangles, and decoupaged then on with a mixture of white glue and water (50/50), overlapping to cover. I then left this to dry for a while. After it is dry you can cut around the smaller areas (Like rivets and handles) with a wallpaper blade.
Next I printed out some music sheet covers and french ornaments (The Graphics Fairy, of course). For these I first sprayed with a clear finish, then cut up and adhered randomly using Super 77 spray adhesive. After that I used a gold tone glaze which I rubbed on then wiped off, leaving more in the corners. I then wrapped the handle in cotton twill tape and attached a netting bow, a french seam binding bow in brown , and for a finishing touch a velvet rose. I make these myself out of old velvet, but you could use a silk rose as well.

Oh shoot,,,,I thought I posted here, instead it went in my blog comments....I'll plead illness and menopause as the cause of that! Ugh! Tried even to cut and paste my comments, but wouldn't let me. Stop back over on Bungalowbling to see what I wrote to you.....sorry. This is a first!!

So beautiful! Could I do this sort of thing to a plastic tool box that I use as a sewing kit?
