Today is beautiful here in the front range, sunny and 60 degreees. Tomorrow, however, a storm is expected to bring between 5-10 inches of snow (This is normal weather for this time of year). So Alice and I decided if we were going to do any estate sales, it had to be today. The only sales advertised were in Golden, a good distance from our home in Castle Rock, and only 2 of them. But we set off anyway, hoping for the best. The first sale was a total dud - nothing much to buy. But the second made up for it. Prices were reasonable (rare these days), and it was 25% off day - woo hoo! It was just the kind of sale I like, lots of things to rummage through, so I bought a lot. Everything from a vintage Cheongsam , to vintage men's ties from the 40's to a puffed grouse planter to a great rustic trunk. We loaded up the truck, stopped for luch at a great BBQ place and toted our treasures home. I've cleaned, repaired and priced it all and it's ready to go into my shop. I worked at The Barn yesterday, so I'm exhausted at this point, but pleased with my purchases and glad I went. I think my favorite thing is the one chalk cowgirl bookend. There's only the one, and it's chipped and worn, but still, I love it!
No project today - however here is a nice bird chromo-lithograph advertising picture I scanned in that you can use.
