Good and bad news this week. First, for the bad, it looks like a knee replacement is in my - not too distant - future. The good news is that Chip is getting an interview for a job in California. He had applied, but we hadn't heard anything in a month, so I was sort of starting to give up hope. So that is good news.
Sales at the shop have been fairly good recently, so I treated myself to the new issue of Somerset apprentice. I was inspried by a collage from it called "Not so Sweet" by Kate Crane. I loved the pink and green color scheme, the book pages as a base, the use of a little girl image, the polka dots and the measuring tape, so I also used those elements.
For my piece, I selected the theme of independence. I was a very independent child and always wanted to do things by myself and the picture of the little girl (Graphics Fairy) reminded me of myself at that age. I had just bought the pink and green clips and couldn't resist using them on the top, as the colors matched perfectly. I also added some metal images from Making Memories, and the diamond crystals.

Cute! Hope the knee replacement is goes smoothly. These days you can be up walking within a week and not so dependent. Ask for physical therapy BEFORE you go so you can build strength.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Lisa! I'm so sorry to hear about your knee, I hope it all goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteI will keep my fingers crossed that your husband gets the job!
The colours you used are like a ray of sunshine, so bright and cheerful. All the best to you and your husband.
